£30,000 - £40,000 a year Title: Events Marketing Executive Location: London - Oval (Hybrid - 4 days per week in office) Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum What am I looking for? Hi, I’m Ahmed, VP of Marketing at Zen Educate. I’m looking for an ambitious, high-energy Events Marketing Executive to help us build our events engine from the ground up. I need someone who isn't just looking for a job, but someone who is hungry to learn, obsessed with organisation, and ready to turn events into one of our biggest growth channels. This isn’t a role where you’ll just be checking badges at a desk. This is about helping us scale. We want to be at every important conference in the UK and host our own bespoke events that clients talk about for months. You’ll be working directly with me to execute a strategy that will 5x our event volume and impact. You’ll be the bridge between our marketing vision and our sales leaders across 10 UK regions. That means you need to be comfortable communicating with different stakeholders, coordinating their needs, and ensuring that when we show up, we show up perfectly. Here’s what I value: -Execution is everything. I value people who take ownership. You should be the kind of person who sees a problem and fixes it before anyone else notices, staying structured and thoughtful while moving at pace. -Radical Organisation. Events have a thousand moving parts. You need to be someone who lives for a checklist and finds peace in a well-managed project plan. -A Roll up the sleeves attitude. No task is too small if it makes the event a success. You are as comfortable discussing strategy as you are packing event boxes or chasing guest speakers. -Hunger to Grow. This is a Junior IC role with a massive ceiling. I value curiosity and a desire to solve problems rather than just identifying them. If you love the thrill of seeing a plan come to life and want to play a key role in a mission-driven company, I’d love to hear from you. What we are building and why? Getting the right teacher into the right school at the right time is a crucial problem to solve, both for education outcomes for children and for the sustainability of an industry that spends billions on this. Since launching in 2017, we’ve saved schools over £30 million and we’re just getting started. In 2024, we closed the largest EdTech round in Europe and are expanding fast. We are well established in the UK and growing at a phenomenal rate in the US To fuel this growth, we are building a world-class events engine. We believe that face-to-face connection is the most powerful way to build trust with schools and teachers. We’re moving from attending events to owning the space, and we need you to help us make that happen What you'll actually do? Let’s get specific. Here’s the kind of work you’ll lead: Coordinate and Collaborate -Act as a point of contact for sales leaders across 10 UK regions to help coordinate the local events they want to organise. -Manage the invite-to-attendance funnel, driving client interest and making sure the room is full of the right people. -Support the broader marketing team to ensure event branding and messaging are top-tier. Execute with Precision -Handle the end-to-end logistics: from venue sourcing and catering to shipping kit and managing guest lists. -Ensure every event goes off without a hitch through meticulous preparation and on-site support. -Help us 5x our event output, moving from a few key dates to a consistent, high-frequency engine of activity. Help Build the Foundation -Work with the senior manager to execute our national events strategy. -Help create the playbook for how Zen Educate shows up at conferences and hosts private events. -Identify high-impact guest speakers and help manage those relationships. Why this role is unique ⭐️ -Ground Floor Opportunity: You’ll be part of the core team building this channel from scratch. Your fingerprints will be all over our events strategy. -High Visibility: You’ll work across marketing and sales teams in 10 different regions, giving you a unique bird's-eye view of how a high-growth business operates. -Huge Growth Potential: As this becomes one of our biggest marketing channels, the opportunities for you to grow in seniority and responsibility are massive. -Mission-Driven: You’ll play a critical role in helping us support more schools and educators, ensuring children get the best possible education. What makes you a great fit You’ll thrive here if: -You believe execution > theory: you’re a doer who loves getting things across the finish line. -You are scary organised: you have a system for everything and never let a detail slip through the cracks. -You genuinely love the energy of events and people. -You are a problem solver who doesn’t get flustered when things change fast. -You care about working at a company where the work actually matters. What won’t work here ❌ We want to be upfront, this role isn’t for everyone. Here’s what might make it a bad fit: -You only like the creative part. If you want to spend all day mood-boarding but hate the logistics of booking couriers or managing spreadsheets, you won't enjoy this. -You need your hand held. We are a fast-moving team. While you'll have support, we need a self-starter who can take a task and run with it independently. -You aren't a fan of the details. If you find planning and checklists tedious rather than essential, this role will feel like a struggle. -You’re a perfectionist. We prioritise momentum and are looking to 5x our output. This requires a fast pace, quick context-switching, and a can-do attitude. Our hiring process We believe in moving fast and respecting your time. Our interview process is broken down into 3 stages, with all interviews in a given stage scheduled simultaneously. Once all interviews in a stage are complete, we aim to get back to you within 36 hours. Stage 1: Recruiter call: to check you’re human, can communicate clearly, and cover some of the basics like compensation, benefits, and availability. Stage 2: Intro call with me: I’ll be wanting to dig into your previous experience in lifecycle and understand how you think and approach, and role and the problems you will face Business context interview: You’ll speak with a senior leader team to explore your understanding of collaboration and lifecycle marketing in a two-sided marketplace and how you'd approach our challenges. Stage 3: Task and review: I’ll send over a short event focussed task for you to complete at home. You’ll then talk it through with me and one of our team leads, explaining your thinking and approach.
