Job Description Summary Job Description The Finance Analyst role will report to the Stafford GSC Senior Finance Leader and will essentially be responsible for assisting in the gathering, interpretation, and analysis of financial and operational data. The Finance Analyst will assist in monitoring key performance indicators, support in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports, and contribute to financial forecasting and budgeting processes. They will also be required to prepare initial variance analyses to compare actual financial performance against planned figures, identifying discrepancies and determining the causes. The role is crucial in consolidating financial data for management review, ensuring accuracy and clarity in financial reporting, and assisting senior management in strategic decision-making. The Finance Analyst will be required to collaborate with different departments to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the financial implications of various operational activities. Key Responsibilities: Support month-end closing activities, including journal entries and data reconciliation. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial management reports and KPI dashboards. Analyze variances between actual costs and budget, investigating significant deviations. Contribute to annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes. Create routine and ad hoc financial reports to support operational decisions. Maintain accuracy of financial databases and ERP systems (e.g., SAP). Collaborate with non-finance teams to explain results and support decision-making. Identify process inefficiencies and help standardize finance workflows. Ensure compliance with internal controls to minimize business risk. Assist in implementing and maintaining finance systems Qualifications / Requirements: ACCA/CIMA student, AAT qualified, or degree in Finance/Economics Previous experience in accounting or financial analysis, ideally in manufacturing Advanced MS Excel skills; strong knowledge of other MS Office applications.
