Following the creation of this new post, we are now looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Transport Officer, supporting the Bus Services Team on bus infrastructure related issues and responsible for the day to day management, coordination and liaison of key elements with both internal and external stakeholders.
About Us
Our Public Transport Team is part of the Public and Integrated Transport service of the county council. The team is responsible for contracted bus service provision and development, information, interchanges and bus stations, concessionary travel and rail developments working with varying partners. This is an exciting time to join Lancashire County Council as HM Government and the Department for Transport have increased support for public transport measures.

The Role
We pride ourselves on delivering the best services we can, and following the creation of this new post, we are now looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Transport Officer, supporting the Bus Services Team on bus infrastructure related issues and responsible for the day to day management, coordination and liaison of key elements with both internal and external stakeholders.
Based in Preston but also working flexibly we are looking for a person who has ideally worked in a public transport, or similar, environment, has experience of working in a busy responsive team and ideally has a geographical knowledge of Lancashire districts and the public transport networks. Excellent information technology and communication skills are a key requirement together with the ability to establish good working relationships.

Key Role Accountabilities And Responsibilities
* To manage the effective delivery of bus stop clearway notices and the preparation and distribution of public information at bus infrastructure across Lancashire.
* To liaise with equivalent officers in other local and neighbouring authorities or other stakeholders as and when required on bus infrastructure matters.
* To manage the day-to-day contact with our external bus shelter contractor in relation to reporting damage, installation and repair updates.
* To evaluate, investigate and resolve complaints received regarding existing or proposed bus stops, shelters or their locations throughout Lancashire.
* To regularly communicate with colleagues in the Public Transport team and wider on all bus infrastructure matters, providing up-to-date relevant information when requested.
* To support and deputise for the Transport Officer for Bus Services, in respect of general bus service issues as and when required.
