Teaching Personnel is supporting a welcoming primary school in Loughborough seeking a Year 6 Class Teacher from June through to the end of the academic year. This role focuses on maintaining momentum after SATs and supporting pupils as they prepare for transition to secondary school.
About the Role
You will take full responsibility for a Year 6 class following the SATs period. Planning and preparation remain key, with a focus on consolidating learning, closing any remaining gaps, and delivering a broad and engaging curriculum in the final weeks of primary education.
Key Responsibilities
· Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Year 6 curriculum post-SATs
· Consolidate core subject knowledge and reinforce key skills
· Support pupils with transition to secondary school
· Assess and monitor progress, adapting lessons where needed
· Provide targeted support to pupils of varying abilities
· Work closely with SLT, SEN staff, and support teams
· Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment
· Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
What We’re Looking For
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
· Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
· Strong classroom management and organisational skills
· Confident with planning and delivering engaging lessons
· Ability to keep pupils motivated after SATs
· A calm and consistent approach in the classroom
