What you’ll be doing
1. Creates a world-class delivery organisation capable of delivering our most complex projects and programmes.
2. Improves the customer experience of project and programme delivery by consistently applying a customer-first mindset.
3. Uses feedback from project journey surveys to drive improvement actions and shares trends across the broader community.
4. Ensures the quality of project and programme delivery across a portfolio of significant revenue value.
5. Supports mobilisation of our most challenging projects and programmes, ensuring strong foundations for success.
6. Applies delivery standards and best practices, using Delivery Assurance reviews, local audits, and PMO governance frameworks to highlight coaching and remedial actions.
7. Maintains visibility across all active programmes and projects, attending internal and external Programme Delivery Boards.
8. Engages with Key Programme Lead and Portfolio Leads to understand delivery timelines, key milestones (KOP), dependencies, and risks.
9. Builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including account and technical teams, to enable proactive support and resource planning.
10. Oversees resource capacity and cost transformation, working with the Key Programme Lead and Resource Partner to manage the pool of Project Managers.
11. Tracks availability, leave, utilisation, and future capacity requirements.
12. Forecasts resource needs across the programme lifecycle and ensures timely allocation of skilled PMs at the appropriate grade, based on complexity.
13. Leverages Delivery Hubs to create a cost-efficient, optimal resource model.
You'll need to have the following skills and experience
14. Prior experience with Portfolio, Programme and Project Management delivering technical solutions to Business customers.
15. Ability to inspire through communication and great behaviours such as personal resilience, commercial acumen, problem solving and stakeholder management.
16. Strong experience with negotiation, communication, and decision-making.
17. Ability to build a culture of continuous learning and development and mutual support.
18. Experience of managing and delivering business change.
19. Experience of recruiting Programme & Project Managers.
20. Experience of coaching and mentoring others to use best-practice processes, methodologies, and tools to support their way of working.
21. Experience of managing a team of programme and project managers.
22. Experience of resolving project or programmes issues to satisfactory resolution.
23. Experience of auditing/reviewing a project governance, with an experience of coaching underperforming individuals.
24. Experience of producing accurate and timely management information to support decision making.
