Role: Commercial Manager

Dowling Civil Engineering, a leading sub-contractor specialising in road & sewer projects, housing developments and groundworks, seeks an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join their commercial team in Lincoln. The role involves working on projects across the Lincolnshire region, with office-based work and occasional site visits.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the commercial team within the company
* Overseeing the commercial and financial aspects of the company
* Provide advice and guidance on contractual matters, risk management, and legal implications.
* Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
* Advise and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors and the Estimating department.
* Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the projects.
* Manage the procurement process, ensuring the selection of the right sub-contractors.
* Prepare reports on project progress such as financial performance and any issues requiring attention.
· Ensure that all commercial documentation is accurately prepared and maintained.
· Lead change management processes and assess the financial impact of variations and claims.
· Liaise with clients and sub-contractors to ensure satisfaction and resolve any commercial issues.
* Attend progress reviews and provide insights
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience as a commercial manager in construction, civil engineering, or groundworks
* Diploma of Higher Education (preferred)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Experience in Esti-mate software an advantage
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Organized and able to work independently or within a team
* Full UK driving licence
