Job Summary
As a Service Engineer you will be carrying out service and maintenance works and call-outs for BMS control systems installed within new and existing client’s sites.
This position requires substantial proactive field‑based customer facing activity, focusing on service delivery, quality and customer relationships.
Responsibilities
* Take overall responsibility for delivering small projects on time and within budget.
* Assist sales team/projects manager with site surveys and upfront design comments as required.
* Review projects on handover from sales team or projects manager in terms of technical compliance to specification and financial position against what has been sold compared to what we are contracted to deliver.
* Raise with sales and projects manager promptly all “as sold”, specification and drawings queries.
* Issuing weekly project reports to clients and Acorn Directors.
* Working with projects manager and to relevant design guides to raise requests for information to enable progression of design.
* Submit technical submittals for approval for description of operations, points lists, panel design, valve selections and data sheets.
* Assist and/or source subcontractors for panels and installation.
* Progress and finalise in conjunction with the projects manager and/or in accordance with consultants design any value engineering agreed as necessary.
* Assist projects manager with the creation and issue of programs of works to our suppliers and sub‑contractor.
Qualifications And Experience Required
* Confirmed previous Trend Training (Minimum of):
* IQ Engineering
* System Engineering
* 963 Engineering
* IQL Engineering
* Experience with IQ2 Series, IQ3 Series and IQ4 Series controllers.
* Electrically competent.
* A level of technical and commercial astuteness.
* A highly proactive, self‑motivated and flexible approach to duties.
* Capable of working on own initiative and as an effective team member.
* Articulate with good communication skills.
* Competent ICT capabilities in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
* Full UK Driving License.
* Living within 40‑50 miles of Central Oxford.
* Ability to work in a larger team.
