Job overview
This is an opportunity to join the Paediatric Team at Worthing Hospital in the University Hospitals Sussex trust. The role involves specialist paediatric care across a varied caseload, including clinics, inpatient ward and home enteral feeding.
Main duties
* Provide paediatric dietetic care in clinics, inpatient ward and home enteral feeding services.
* Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, discharge meetings and case conferences.
* Supervise and support student dietitians, band 5 dietitians and dietetic support workers.
* Cover clinical workload of other dietitians during absences.
* Lead and participate in service development, audits, research and CPD opportunities.
* Teach and train other health professionals (e.g., junior doctors, health visitors, students).
Person specification
Experience / Qualifications
* Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics.
* HCPC registration – dietitian.
* Experience in paediatric dietetics.
* Relevant further qualification or training (e.g. MSc, leadership course).
* Member of BDA or equivalent professional body with full insurance cover.
* Evidence of continued professional development.
Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication across a range of formats.
* Ability to manage complex cases and work effectively within an MDT.
* Experience in training and supervising students and staff.
* Strong team‑working skills and collaborative approach.
