Hours – 20 hours per week (8.15 – 12.30)

DBS requirement - Enhanced DBS

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to support the Catering Manager in the day-to-day operation of the college kitchen. You will help deliver high-quality food and excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen regulations.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Preparing, cooking, portioning, and serving food for breakfast, breaks, lunch, and hospitality events.
Supporting stock control and helping to minimise food waste.
Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety compliance.
Ensuring allergen guidance and labelling requirements are met.
Cleaning kitchen equipment, workspaces, and dining areas.
Completing records and administrative tasks as required.
Attending training and completing mandatory online learning.
Requirements for the role:
Previous catering experience, ideally within an educational or similar environment
English and Maths at GCSE C/4
Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety regulations.
Experience in using tills
Experience providing excellent customer service.
Understanding of health, safety, and fire regulations.
Strong communication and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
All candidates will require an enhance DBS check
