Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health & Safety Manager to oversee and enhance our health and safety protocols within the organisation. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment, and fostering a culture of safety across all levels of the company. This position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a proactive approach to risk management.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements.
* Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
* Provide training and guidance to employees on health and safety practices, including first aid procedures.
* Prepare detailed reports on health and safety performance, incidents, and compliance status for management review.
* Lead investigations into workplace accidents or near misses, employing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
* Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety awareness throughout the organisation.
* Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to health and safety.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a similar industry.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
* Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
* Certification in first aid is highly desirable.
* Experience in conducting root cause analysis to identify underlying issues related to workplace incidents.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams while demonstrating leadership in health and safety initiatives.
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: £33,608.85-£60,374.32 per year
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
