Accounts Assistant
Permanent - Middlewich - £28,000
A leading organisation in the Middlewich area is seeking a confident and experienced Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team. Reporting to the Accounts Office Supervisor, youll be part of a close-knit team of four, responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the accounts department. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of tasks, and enjoys solving problems with precision and professionalism. Duties will include
Match purchase invoices with POs and resolve discrepancies
Prepare weekly payment plans for Accounts Payable
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve variances
Support Credit Control during peak periods
Raise timely credit notes and resolve disputes
Generate sales invoices
Post daily cash
Reconcile bank statements
Maintain supplier master data files
Work to tight accounting timetables
Manage shared inboxes and handle incoming calls professionally
The ideal candidate will be experienced in high-volume transactional accounting, be eager to learn and can pick up new accounting software with ease. The company offer an excellent benefits package with a salary of £28,000 annual salary, 22 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 25 with service), company pension scheme after 3 months, life assurance and a wellbeing programme. This is a full-time office-based position.
