About the role
Our Commercial Team working on the successful Severn Trent Water account are looking for a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team. You will support the Commercial team in carrying out normal commercial and contractual duties.
Salary: up to £28,000 depending on experience.
Location: Successful applicants will be required to attend our Derby office every Tuesday and Thursday. The remaining days of the week can be worked remotely from home or in the office.
Responsibilities
* Support the Commercial Team in ensuring compliance with Avove systems and processes.
* Work to strict deadlines set by the contract and Avove requirements.
* Monitor and report on the financial performance of assigned contracts.
* Assist in setting up suitable construction contracts to meet procurement needs.
* Prepare accurate financial statements for assigned contracts.
* Administer contract requirements, including managing variations to the works.
* Maintain records to support claims, time extensions, and variation evaluations.
* Manage subcontractor appointments and oversee payment applications and final accounts.
* Ensure timely submission of invoices and payment applications to clients.
* Support Business Development with information for PQQs and tenders.
Skills/Experience
* Strong commercial awareness
* Competent with Microsoft packages (particularly excel)
* Degree qualification or studying towards (RICS or equivalent) is desirable but not mandatory.
* Experience in NEC3 or 4 Contracts would be desirable but not mandatory.
