An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Delivery within a busy Technology division. The role will be at least an eight-month fixed term contract, which is to cover maternity leave. Ideally you will be available at either immediate or short notice.
The IT is the centralized IT shared services providing applications, infrastructure, network and desktop support across the company. As part of an ongoing IT Transformation, my client requires a Head of Programme Delivery who will be responsible for:
Running the team responsible for Programme Management, Project Management, Software Testing and QA.
The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with demonstrable, strategic experience within the above areas within IT. Ensuring that systems meet the current and planned needs of the business units and corporate systems.
Managing, overseeing and dealing with escalations, you will be managing the technical side of projects. Run and manage a team of experienced technical individuals and general keeping on top of issues and occurrences across the projects. Producing and presenting a high level of reporting and working closely with systems, Test/QA and technical design teams.
You will be the key escalation point for any issues and will be a great problem solver and logical thinker, with the ability to think and plan. You will possess strong stakeholder management skills and will often be required to attend and report on projects in board and CEO meetings.
This is a highly integral role within the business and a full handover/hand back will take place. There is hybrid working of two days in the office and three days working from home every week.
Skills/Experience/Attributes:
* Demonstrable experience as a Head of Technical Delivery – minimum of five plus years’ experience
* Degree educated in Computer Science or similar
* PMP or Prince certified
* Familiarity with ITIL/COBIT processes
* Management of large projects and programmes of work
* Strong leadership and people management
* Knowledge/experience of Jira and Salesforce are desirable
* Experience in budget management and areas of improvement
* Experience of strategical management on the technical side of projects
* A high level of report creation and presentation
* Strong stakeholder management experience. Comfortable with attending regular board meetings
* Experience of being an escalation point and experience of problem-solving major issues. Good at identify risks.
* Technical mind with a strong focus on deliverables
