Are you a PR professional in trade publishing looking for a new challenge? Our client, an award-winning publisher, is seeking a PR Manager to work within their busy children’s division. You will be involved in strategically planning, implementing, and managing ambitious publicity campaigns that drive sales and ensure extensive coverage across all platforms. Additionally, you will coordinate with various departments, particularly marketing, sales, rights, and editorial, and communicate activities effectively both internally and to authors and agents.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and oversee all elements of a publicity campaign
2. Evaluate campaign effectiveness and measure sales impact where possible
3. Establish and maintain relationships with journalists
4. Provide acquisition feedback from a PR perspective
5. Draft acquisition announcements for trade press
6. Lead focus meetings for individual titles
7. Collaborate closely with the marketing team to ensure integrated campaigns that meet book expectations and author/illustrator availability
8. Build and maintain relationships with authors, illustrators, and agents; offer exceptional author care, including organizing and accompanying them to events, launches, and festivals
The Ideal Candidate
Will be highly organized with excellent time management skills, able to prioritize effectively, and stay calm under pressure. Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills, handles confidential projects discreetly, and approaches problem-solving creatively with a focus on budget and value for money. Dedicated to author care, with the ability to mentor publicity assistants and press officers.
