About the role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented compliance executive with a passion for excellence to join our team. The successful applicant will support the day-to-day administration of the compliance function, working closely with the compliance officer to ensure robust compliance with our regulatory obligations and best practice procedures.
The role is ideal for somebody who is at the start of their compliance career, or a graduate interested in this fast-growing area of legal work. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is able to learn quickly and progress within the role. Previous compliance experience within the legal sector would be an advantage, but not essential. If you have strong organisational, task management and communications skills, and are analytical and detail focussed, this could be the role for you.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Anti-Money Laundering (‘AML’) checks: assisting with implementing and conducting Know Your Client (KYC) Verification of Funds checks
* Monitor compliance with internal policies and procedures to ensure legal services are delivered in line with regulatory requirements
* Investigate adverse results of KYC checks and AML search reports
* Maintain accurate records of compliance activities to ensure audit readiness
* Compile file review reports and any other compliance checks, reporting the results to the Compliance Officer
* Assist with Compliance Related or Risk Management projects
* Maintain the Firm’s Portals under the supervision of the Compliance Officer – Lender Panels, HMCTS, Land Registry
* Any other duties as requested by the Compliance team
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Required:
* A proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritise work whilst maintaining accuracy and focus.
* Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical approach.
* Confidence in communicating with people at all levels.
* Examples of initiative and being able to work well within a team environment.
* Ability to research independently, with the desire to learn new tasks and take on additional responsibilities where necessary.
* Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
* A high level of professionalism and integrity
Desirable but NOT essential:
* Previous experience in a compliance role in the legal sector; and/or
* Law Graduate/education in Solicitor’s regulatory rules.
