Job overview Our Adult Emergency Department (ED) based at St Peter’s Hospital in Chertsey is now recruiting for Band 3 Senior Health Care Support Workers Our ED is a very busy department seeing more than 110,000 people per year, it operates 24 hours per day serving a densely populated and diverse community. The department is divided into 6 sections: PIT stop (ambulance receiving) Urgent Treatment Centre – for minor injuries and illnesses Majors/High dependency Resuscitation – a 4 bedded area with dedicated stroke, cardiac, trauma and paediatric bays Same day Emergency Care and Clinical Decision Unit – for patients requiring more than 4 hours observation Full time and part time posts (minimum of 23 hours) will be considered, shifts include long days, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Our Senior HCSWs will need the flexibility to cover varied shift patterns. Essential criteria to be eligible and considered for this post is: Previous NHS experience as a health care support worker Having successfully achieved the Care Certificate Level 3 qualification Successful candidates must also have good communication skills, competent IT skills, a valid right to work document and have a kind, caring and compassionate nature.
