Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week working Monday to Friday.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Bristol City Council Housing Service for a motivated and experienced Contract Management professional.
This is an opportunity to join Bristol City Council's Housing Repairs & Maintenance Service, with a £42m p.a. revenue budget and £90m p.a. capital programme.
Bristol City Council is seeking to recruit a Contracts Manager working within the Service managing contracts of various types and scopes, including goods, services and works. Contracts that sit within the portfolio include:
* Material Supply (Including; Gas, Plumbing, Electrical, General Building Materials and Tool Hire)
* Asbestos Surveying and Consultancy
* Waste Management Services
* Responsive Repair related works including:
o Drainage and Cold-Water Works
o Roofing Repairs
o Scaffolding
o Flooring Works
o Disrepair Claim related repairs
o Damp & Mould related works and services
* Consultancy Services including Party Wall and Expert Witness consultancy
You will act as a dedicated expert on a portfolio of contracts within the Housing Repairs and Maintenance Service, ensuring high quality and efficient delivery in line with contractual commitments and working with operational teams to develop business cases and specifications for upcoming contracts.
What do I need to have?
We need someone with excellent understanding of the principles of contract and performance management and ability to apply these practically within a working environment within the Housing & Landlord Service, as well as understanding of the challenges of this sector.
You will be required to have experience of developing and managing contracts with a proven knowledge in contract negotiations, data analysis and performance monitoring. Ideally with experience in Private and Public sector.
You will need to have knowledge and experience of applying contract law within a diverse/complex organisation.
You will also need experience of developing and sustaining effective professional working relationships with a wide range of partners, stakeholders and suppliers, with a proven ability to lead and manage people and budgets.
Knowledge and understanding of the Procurement Regulations and a relevant qualification would be advantageous.
This role will be primarily office based at Sandy Park to support the operational teams. Some hybrid working will be possible. You will be required to attend meetings with clients that may be face to face.
