Overall Purpose of the Role:We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing supplier invoices and maintaining accurate financial records, as well as providing support for all aspects of procurement. You will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy of our purchase ledger, processing supplier invoices, and supporting smooth payment operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid accounts experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.The role also gives the successful candidate the opportunity to gain further experience learning all aspects relating to ordering.What you will be doing:
* Process supplier invoices, matching them to purchase orders
* Support the procurement process
* Obtain approvals for non-order invoices
* Follow up on invoices in query status
* Set up new supplier accounts as required
* Reconcile supplier statements
* Handle supplier queries, overdue notices, and identified accounts that require further attention
* Update supplier payment reports with outstanding payment requests
* Maintain a tidy supplier ledger by allocating payments and credits
* Enter weekly Point of Connection invoices
* Process weekly supplier payments
* Provide holiday cover for bank statements, including payments and receipts (using Sage & In-house system) when required
* Process water invoices and send to the Commercial team when required
* Respond to information requests from Commercial and Design teams when require
What we ask from you:
* Demonstrate ownership and accountability in daily tasks
* Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role
* Knowledge on job costing is desirable
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage (or similar software)
