You will be a vital part of our patient care services, ensuring the safe and efficient collection of blood samples for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform venepuncture and collect blood samples from patients in a variety of settings (inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and community settings).
* Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of specimens in line with NHS protocols.
* Maintain a high standard of infection control and patient care.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide seamless healthcare services.
* Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients, ensuring a comfortable experience.
What We’re Looking For:
* Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy training program.
* Proven experience in venepuncture and phlebotomy practice (minimum 1 year preferred).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and colleagues.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Commitment to maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality.
* A caring and empathetic approach to patient care.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) or evidence of equivalent experience.
* Current certification in phlebotomy practice.
* Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and shifts, if required.
* Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (desirable for community-based roles).
