Overview of role:
LMG has recently acquired a number of exciting investments which has created an opening for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant. The role will be to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of current and future investments within LMG.
This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial control, and insight for each entity. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with preparing accounts for small entities and confident setting up new processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Complete all bookkeeping requirements for each entity, including posting sales and purchase invoices, monitoring email inboxes and chasing overdue invoices.
* Produce periodic reconciliations, including complex event sales, deferred income, depreciation and leases.
* Submit periodic trial balance to the Group Finance Manager and support with the preparation of management accounts.
* Prepare regular payment runs for each entity.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies and FRS 102.
* Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
* Partner with management of each investment to ensure support financial information is provided in a timely manner and financials are complete.
* Compile VAT returns, ONS requests and other statutory fillings.
* Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors during year-end.
* Identify and implement process improvements.
* Take a leading role in bringing the accounts in-house.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Accounting practise experience (desirable)
* Proven experience of compiling accounts of smaller companies and implementing new systems.
* Previous experience working in an events business preferable.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial control experience.
* High proficiency with accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
* Ability to prioritise effectively across several entities.
* Strong analytical and communication skills.
