About the AI Research Residency

The AI Research Residency at MediaTek Research is a fixed-term program designed for recent graduates and early-career researchers. This immersive experience offers the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge AI research under the mentorship of experienced scientists and engineers. Residents work on impactful projects that bridge theoretical advances with practical applications.

The program is ideal for individuals who are excited to shape their own research directions, thrive in an intellectually dynamic environment, and view research not just as a career step, but as a creative and deeply engaging pursuit.

Program Highlights


* Mentorship: Collaborate with experienced researchers and engineers on innovative AI projects
* Research Focus: Engage in areas such as large language models (LLMs), optimization methods for deep learning, reinforcement learning (RL), and generative models

1. Responsibilities

* Conduct innovative research in machine learning and artificial intelligence
* Develop and implement algorithms

* Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI and related fields


Qualifications

Required:

* PhD in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly
2. Preferred:

* Experience in optimization, reinforcement learning, and/or large language models (LLMs)
* Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX)
* A strong publication record in top conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL)
