Outreach Learning Support Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Learning Support Assistant to join a dynamic team in Braintree, helping to transform the lives of students requiring tailored, off-site educational support.
About the role:
As an Outreach Learning Support Assistant, you will work directly with students who are unable to attend mainstream education due to various needs, including social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) challenges, special educational needs (SEN), or other barriers to learning. Your role involves delivering bespoke one-to-one or small group interventions in homes, community centres, or other outreach locations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support students with their learning, helping them access curriculum content at an appropriate level.
* Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and confidence.
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to tailor support plans.
* Maintain accurate records of progress, attendance, and behaviour.
* Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and independence in students.
About You:
* Experience working with children or young people with additional needs or challenging behaviours.
* A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are often essential.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Youth Work, or equivalent) are desirable.
