Housing Advice & Homeless Prevention Officer\n Hillingdon\n Homeless Service\n 3 Months\n 35 Hours\n £27.38 LTD / £23.49 PAYE (inc hol)\n We are currently recruiting for a skilled Housing Advice & Homeless Prevention Officer to join the Homeless Service at Hillingdon Council. This role plays a vital part in delivering frontline homelessness prevention support, including outreach in hotel settings, and requires strong knowledge of housing legislation and excellent case management skills.\n \n THE ROLE\n The successful candidate will provide comprehensive housing options advice to prevent homelessness, manage complex caseloads, and ensure compliance with statutory housing duties.\nDeliver effective, personalised housing advice to prevent homelessness.\nUndertake assessments under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996.\nManage a busy caseload including housing options, move-on support, and referrals.\nEngage in regular outreach work at hotels to support resettled clients.\nLiaise with internal teams and external partners to secure accommodation solutions.\nIdentify safeguarding concerns and carry out appropriate referrals.\nMaintain high-quality, accurate records and prepare reports for senior managers.\n THE CANDIDATE\n The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar housing advice or homeless prevention role within a local authority or housing organisation.\nStrong knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 (Part VI & VII) and related homelessness legislation.\nExperience of conducting housing assessments and managing complex casework.\nSkilled in communicating with clients facing crisis and those with complex needs.\nAbility to work across services including social care, housing providers, and voluntary agencies.\nConfident using housing and case management IT systems with excellent written communication skills.\n THE CONTRACT\n9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday\n3 Month Contract, Temp to Perm\nThe pay for the role is £27.38 per hour LTD company rate.\nThe PAYE equivalent is £23.49 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.\n HOW TO APPLY\n To apply for this role, please email a copy of your CV to (url removed) or call on (phone number removed) to discuss the role in more detail!\n If the role is more suited to someone you know, we offer a £250 referral bonus for every successfully referred candidate
