We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team on a bank basis at HMP YOI Moorland.
HMP YOI Moorland is a category C men's prison and Young Offenders Institution based in Hatfield, South Yorkshire. The site offers a range of healthcare services including Physical Health, Mental Health, Pharmacy and Substance Misuse.
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care.
No NVQ is required - we will support you to achieve this!
Hours
This is a bank role so shifts are flexible across the week, 24 hours a day.
Salary
This is a bank position and the hourly rate is £15.80.

What you'll be doing
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
* Working within the primary care team, you will work with Nurses and Nursing Associates across the service
* Assist with clinical observations, vaccination clinics etc
* Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients
* Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
* Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics
* Support the nursing and pharmacy teams onsite
* Support the mental health and substance misuse teams as necessary
* Assist with release and discharge when needed

Our New Healthcare Assistant Will
* Have experience within a care environment - ideally primary care
* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
* Ideally hold a NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent - this isn't essential!
* Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
