We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Signatory. In this key role, you will act in accordance with the DoLS framework to support the Supervisory Body, who have overall responsibility for granting or refusing authorisations for deprivation of liberty and will be responsible for signing authorisations. You will support the DoLS Lead and Westmorland and Furness Council in implementing the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) across the area, working within agreed objectives and quality and performance standards. Acting as a signatory, you will ensure that the Supervisory Body meets all legal obligations, minimising potential financial or reputational risks while safeguarding the rights of service users. Who we are looking for… We are seeking an experienced professional with a degree in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or a related field, with accredited Best Interests Assessor training and registration with the relevant professional body. You will have strong knowledge of DoLS, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act 1983, excellent decision-making and report-writing skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. A commitment to continuous professional development and up-to-date practice is essential.
