This is a role to help design, deploy, and manage public cloud infrastructure for a large, national government department. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and delivery teams to deliver secure and reliable services to millions of customers across the UK.
Base pay range
Up to £68,517 plus 28.97% employer pension contributions. Hybrid working, flexible hours and a generous benefits package.
What skills, knowledge and significant experience will you need?
* Managing and deploying applications to managed Kubernetes platforms such as EKS and AKS.
* Cloud compute, storage and configuration to build repeatable, scalable, resilient and highly available solutions.
* Use and administration of source code management systems such as GitLab, including writing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
* Writing Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) using Terraform and Config‑as‑Code (CaC) using Ansible; CloudFormation is desirable.
* Identifying and automating toil to improve efficiency, reliability and reduce repetitive manual tasks.
* Working within Service and Delivery management frameworks (ITIL – Incident, Problem, Change, and Agile methodologies).
* Strong communication and leadership skills.

You will be part of a dynamic team, leading by example when designing and delivering robust, secure and reliable infrastructure solutions. You will manage and improve public cloud platforms, support junior team members and help resolve incidents when things go wrong. This hands‑on role offers real impact in a fast‑moving tech environment.
Location
You'll join us in one of our digital hubs in Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle – whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working
We work a hybrid model – some time at home and some time at a hub.
Pay
Competitive pay of up to £68,517.
Pension
Employer contributions of 28.97%, worth over £16,000 per year.
Holidays
26 days increasing to 31 days over time plus public holidays. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi‑time.
