Position Overview:
Provide technical support for remote and onsite users. This position provides front-line technical support for nearly all of the systems for which IT Services is responsible. Responsibilities include installation and/or configuration of computing hardware (computers, network switches, printers, etc.), software, A/V devices, network cabling, diagnostics, troubleshooting and end-user assistance
Position Description:
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide end user support via remote assistance and telephone. Document incoming helpdesk requests using internal ticketing system
* Install, repair and maintain desktop and laptop computers, peripherals and related systems
* Assist in maintaining hardware and software inventory for asset management.
* Demonstrate broad knowledge of technology principles, practices, and procedures
* Self-manage in a way that allows flexibility to support multiple tasks at any given time
* Assist in administering the telephone system and all user handsets
* Assist in creating or updating end user support documents within knowledge management
* End-user Account Management
* Build and maintain relationships across departments
* Other duties may be assigned
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
* Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
* 2+ years of overall IT experience preferred
* 2+ years’ experience supporting Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS environment preferred
* 2+ years’ experience supporting Microsoft Office applications preferred
* Advanced knowledge of Office 365 - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
* Demonstrate ability to learn and understand basic office software applications
* Knowledge of network security practices and Antivirus software preferred
· Other Skills:
* Exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills
* Self-motivated and able to work across diverse technical and non-technical teams
* Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
* Exceptional Customer-oriented attitude
* ITIL (foundational level, but exposure to more detail than foundation is often necessary)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
* Normal office environment
* Extending viewing of computer screens
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Spends time at a computer workstation and desk.
* Moves throughout department or other locations to access or exchange information.
* May involve carrying loads up to 50 lbs. and being able to remain in a stationary position.
* May involve lowering oneself to file, and reaching, twisting or turning.
* Involves handling office materials, typing, writing and other tasks that require manual dexterity.
* Ability to communicate information.
* This job may require accommodating different bodily movements and physical abilities
