We're proud of our settings - and keeping them safe, functional, and compliant is essential to the care we provide. As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring our nurseries remain safe, welcoming, and in great working order.
You'll be hands-on across multiple sites, attending reactive maintenance calls, completing compliance checks (such as fire safety and Legionella), and ensuring all work is logged, compliant, and delivered to a high standard. You'll also be a go-to person for onsite queries, spotting opportunities to improve how we operate and helping nursery teams focus on what matters most - the children.
What You'll Be Doing
* Responding to maintenance issues across your region, making safe or completing first fixes where possible
* Supporting with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits and contractor oversight
* Conducting internal compliance checks (Legionella, fire safety, etc.) and reporting issues promptly
* Ensuring accurate records for H&S and Ofsted audits
* Background in maintenance, general trades or multi-site facilities support
* Understanding of compliance requirements (e.g., Legionella, Fire Safety)
* Strong organisation and a hands-on, can-do approach
* Confidence managing your own workload and making practical decisions under pressure
* Willingness to travel nationwide and a full UK driving licence
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Comfortable using systems to log, track, and report on work
* A genuine commitment to safety, quality, and supporting others
