The Role
We are seeking a Workshop Supervisor / QMS-focused professional to support the day-to-day running of the workshop while maintaining and developing our Quality Management System.
This is a hands-on supervisory role combining workshop oversight with structured quality control responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop Supervision
Oversee daily workshop activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification
Ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and adhered to
Monitor productivity and quality standards
Quality Management System (QMS)
Maintain and update the company QMS in line with current standards and customer requirements
Ensure workshop quality systems remain compliant and audit-ready
Keep work packs accurate, complete, and up to date
Support internal and external audits
Commercial / Documentation
Prepare and manage Schedule of Rates (SORs)
Ensure documentation aligns with contractual and technical requirements
Maintain traceability and inspection records where required
Candidate Requirements
Experience in a fabrication or heavy engineering workshop environment
Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems
Experience managing documentation and work packs
Understanding of Schedule of Rates (SORs) and commercial documentation
Good organisational and leadership skills
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications
Desirable
Formal quality qualification (e.g., ISO 9001 internal auditor)
Supervisory or team leadership experience
Experience working to client-specific quality standards
