Brockenhurst College has an opportunity for a Lecturer in Photography to join their dedicated and enthusiastic team on a part time basis to cover maternity leave. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £33,367 - £44,365 pro rata per annum. (Unqualified teachers £26,436 to £33,367 pro rata per annum.)

About the role:
As the Lecturer in Photography you will continually improve the learning experience and achievement of students through effective teaching.
Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Photography will include:
2. Teaching on courses as agreed with the Head of Curriculum, BTEC Level 3 Art and Design (Photography), and CTEC Level 2 Art and Design (Photography), although courses may be subject to change within Art and Design/Photography.
3. Provide pastoral support where required.
4. Acting as Course Leader, when requested
5. Preparing and marking student work, monitoring progress towards individual targets, keeping records and providing timely reports/reviews to students, parents, employers and College managers, as appropriate
6. Working closely with other colleagues to respond to the needs of students
7. Paying due attention to the principles of inclusive learning including:
8. individual learning styles
9. support for students with learning difficulties and disabilities
10. extension resources/activities for students of higher ability;
11. general resources, including the use of Information Learning Technology.
12. Contributing to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum
13. Contributing to the teaching/learning resource bank for the relevant subject/course
14. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments in the relevant subject/course
15. Developing and maintaining effective external links related to the delivery of the subject/course and representing the College at relevant meetings.
16. Organise and participate in relevant visits, field trips etc.
17. Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, including Enrolment/Open Events and Parents’ Evening, as appropriate.
18. Advise and assist the Head of Department and other team members in all matters related to the delivery of subject specialisms.
19. Participate, as a team member, in the development of teaching methods and strategies towards an ethos of continuous improvement.
20. Contribute to the self-assessment process and take responsibility for relevant actions and targets in the development plan for the curriculum area.
21. Participate in the College’s Lesson Observation Scheme.
22. Undertake professional development and training to contribute to individual and College development.
23. Undertake such duties as may be reasonably requested from time to time.
As our Lecturer in Photography, you’ll ideally have:
24. A Degree or equivalent professional qualification in the relevant subject area
25. Appropriate teacher training qualification (or working towards this)
26. Excellent teaching skills
27. Strong knowledge of Art & Design Theory, knowledge and delivery of theoretical units on vocational programmes essentials
28. High level practical skills in the areas of Photography
29. Able to develop effective learning resources
30. Knowledge and understanding of current developments in the Photography area
31. Knowledge of appropriate health and safety requirements
32. Supportive and positive approach to teaching
33. Empathy with and a strong commitment to meeting the needs of individual students
