The role of Fraud Analyst was created to support our strategic objectives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards related to Financial Crime and Sanctions across Euroclear UK & International.
The role reports to the Head of Screening and Monitoring and involves identifying and assessing potential Fraud risks through screening and monitoring processes. The analyst will ensure adherence to Euroclear's criteria across various relationships, including clients, issuers, and third-party providers. Close collaboration with 1st line Financial Crime Managers and 2nd line Legal and Compliance teams is essential, especially regarding KYC, Sanction & Adverse Media Screening, and Transaction Monitoring.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and respond to Fraud referrals, escalating as per SLAs and procedures.
* Investigate transactions for fraudulent activity and compromised accounts.
* Utilize fraud prevention systems such as Hunter and CIFAS.
* Monitor real-time queues for high-risk transactions.
* Identify fraudulent activities like account takeovers and various types of fraud.
* Document fraud trends and report findings to management.
* Suggest improvements to internal and external processes to mitigate fraud risks.
* Identify malicious behaviors and develop systems to detect and prevent them.
* Coordinate with Legal and Compliance teams on financial crime issues.
* Assist in developing and maintaining a robust Fraud Framework.
* Complete tasks accurately and support the team as directed.
* Perform risk-based monitoring and collaborate with compliance and other departments.
* Meet KPIs set by senior management.
* Keep screening and monitoring tools updated.
* Adhere to governance and approval protocols.
* Maintain clear documentation and records.
* Respond proactively to inquiries with accurate and professional communication.
* Conduct control-related tasks and gather necessary evidence.
* Identify operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
* Review and improve existing controls and procedures.
Your profile
* Experience with anti-financial crime processes in a regulated environment (FCA/BofE), preferably within a custodian, registrar, or stockbroker.
* Knowledge of UK legislation and regulations on Fraud Management, AML, and counter-terrorist financing.
* Experience with CSD operating models is a plus.
* Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
* Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, professional, and team-oriented.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines.
* Sound judgment and confident decision-making skills.
