Job Description
Expleo is working closely with a globally renowned Automotive OEM in Central London to recruit a highly creative Automotive Colour Designer, on a contract basis. In this role, you will deliver modern, innovative colour and material design solutions for new vehicle programmes.
Key Responsibilities:-
Creative Design – Projects
* Research and develop visual concept proposals in collaboration with the Global Colour Group, bringing a unique and innovative perspective.
* Initiate and develop design themes while maintaining the integrity of the design brief.
* Use the latest design tools to illustrate proposals effectively.
* Research, develop, and propose innovative materials or finishes with suppliers, ensuring feasibility and cost targets.
* Communicate design concepts clearly and maintain exceptional visual presentation standards.
Project Management
* Mentor peers to enhance creativity and efficiency within the design team.
* Independently lead colour projects from initial exploration through to final release.
* Participate in project planning meetings to ensure clarity of direction.
* Create and manage timing plans, ensuring adherence to cost targets.
* Maintain regular communication with all business partners and stakeholders.
* Stay fully engaged with overall project requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:-
* Highly creative and innovative, with a proactive mindset.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
* Motivational team player with leadership and project management experience.
* Ability to challenge and innovate in colour and materials.
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Art & Design.
* Technical awareness of material manufacturing processes.
* Automotive industry experience and knowledge of current trends.
* Full UK driving licence preferred.

Additional Requirement:
Candidates must be able to travel across Europe and the UK approximately once every two months, for around 3 days at a time.
