Advanced Practitioner - Sonographer (Head and Neck)
An opportunity to work as an advanced practitioner within the head and neck specialism at Hywel Dda University Health Board. The successful candidate will work closely with the ENT multidisciplinary team to provide timely diagnosis for neck cancers. The candidate will be expected to perform diagnostic scans and biopsies/fine needle aspirations. The post is based at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen, but the post holder will be required to work across the health board as needed.
Responsibilities
* To be an expert practitioner in head and neck ultrasound and to perform biopsies as required.
* To assess complex clinical information to ensure that the imaging that is performed contributes significantly to a diagnosis for the patient.
* Provide professional advice to other professionals, multidisciplinary groups, patients and carers.
* To participate in the training of Radiology Registrars, Sonographers, Student Sonographers and Radiography students.
* Contribute to the operational and strategic development of ultrasound services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
