Overview
The role in a nutshell: managing the company's credit accounts to ensure timely payments from FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) regulated customers. The Credit Control Department helps manage the money that people and businesses owe to a company, ensuring customers pay their bills on time and supporting those who might be having trouble paying. This helps keep the company's cash flow steady, enabling operation and growth while ensuring good customer outcomes.
The role you are applying for will be working for KINTO-UK Ltd, a Mobility Brand owned by the Toyota Group, with offices located in Portsmouth. KINTO-UK shares their HR function with Toyota Financial Services (TFS) in the UK; however the advertised job will not be working directly for Toyota Financial Services.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Team: Work closely with the sales and finance teams to share information and develop strategies for improving collections and good customer outcomes
* Monitor Accounts: Keep track of customer accounts to ensure payments are received on time and spot any overdue balances early
* Communicate with Customers: Reach out to customers via phone, email, or letters to remind them of upcoming or overdue payments and answer billing questions
* Agree Payment Plans: Collaborate with customers facing financial difficulties to set up manageable payment plans that keep them on track
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions with customers, payment statuses, and collection efforts
* Resolve Disputes: Address billing disputes or discrepancies quickly and fairly
* Vulnerable Customers: Recognise and support vulnerable customers using relevant company policies
* FCA Regulations: Ensure good outcomes for customers in line with FCA regulation
* Litigation: Review and prepare cases for litigation
* Assist with Management Insight: Prepare regular reports on the status of outstanding debts and collection efforts for management
Requirements
* Results-Driven: Proven record of meeting or exceeding collection targets and improving cash flow
* Analytical Proficiency: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data
* System Knowledge: Proficiency in using credit management software and other financial tools
* Customer First Approach: Prioritise customers’ needs, recognise vulnerable customers, and tailor approach accordingly
* Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication for effective interaction with customers and internal teams
* Negotiation Skills: Ability to create workable payment plans and resolve disputes amicably
* Team Collaboration: Experience working with sales, finance, and customer service teams
