This post offers an exciting opportunity for a band 5 occupational therapist to develop and consolidate their clinical skills in a specialist older peoples mental health inpatient setting. We are looking for a dynamic, professional, and enthusiastic occupational therapist to join our friendly & supportive multi-disciplinary team.
About the Service
Our team is a joint occupational therapy and physiotherapy service working with adults aged over 65 who have complex mental health conditions. We are an organic and functional older peoples inpatient service based at The Woodlands, Rotherham. We work across inpatient wards, patient homes, and care homes.
Role Responsibilities
1. Assess occupational needs and provide interventions on an individual and group basis for service users with acute, complex mental health needs.
2. Assist in supervising support staff and students.
3. Deliver interventions to enable service users to develop independent living skills and work towards individual recovery and discharge goals.
4. Develop links with statutory and voluntary sector community resources to ensure ongoing occupational needs are addressed for a safe and effective discharge.
