Year 4 Class Teacher – Maternity Cover Location: Central Southampton Start Date: January 2026 Contract: 4 or 5 days per week, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Pay: Paid to scale (£170 – £233 per day) About the Role A large, well-established primary school in central Southampton is seeking a Year 4 class teacher to cover maternity leave starting January 2026. This is a role with full class teacher responsibilities, initially for one term, with the flexibility of working either 4 or 5 days per week. You will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing a Year 4 class, working closely with year group colleagues to ensure consistency and shared planning. The role includes full teaching responsibilities and offers the opportunity to contribute to wider school life. What We’re Looking For Qualified Primary Teacher with experience in KS2 (Year 4 experience desirable). Confident in managing classroom routines and expectations. Able to work effectively as part of a team. Skilled in adapting teaching to meet a range of pupil needs, including SEND. Requirements UK-recognised teaching qualification.
