We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.</p><h3>The role</h3><p>NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are currently recruiting for a full‑time Family Nurse post across Greater Glasgow & Clyde. The Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) programme is an intensive, preventative, one‑to‑one home visiting programme designed to work with young parents from pregnancy until their child’s second birthday. The programme aims to improve pregnancy and birth outcomes, child health and development, and economic stability of families.</p><ul><li>Improve pregnancy and birth outcomes through enhanced prenatal health behaviours</li><li>Improve child health and development through positive, responsive caregiving</li><li>Improve the economic stability of families by developing and realising their future plans</li></ul><p>All new Family Nurses will have the option to undertake the Professional Diploma in Family Nursing, which on successful completion awards 60 Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Level 11 points.</p><p>The successful applicant must be available to attend all mandatory dates for FNP Education over an 18‑month period. Education is facilitated using a hybrid model of online and face‑to‑face learning, including residential components.</p><p>All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship where these are met.</p><h3>Duration, Location, and Working Pattern</h3><ul><li>Location: Drumchapel Health Centre</li><li>Contract: Permanent</li><li>Workload: Full‑time (36 hours per week)</li><li>Shift pattern: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm</li></ul><h3>Key responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Develop therapeutic relationships with clients and work intensively with complex families to achieve FNP outcomes</li><li>Recruit and engage eligible young pregnant women in the programme</li><li>Deliver the FNP intensive home‑visiting programme using licensed materials</li><li>Act as named person and, where appropriate, lead professional therapeutic work with families in their homes</li><li>Use the six FNP domains to conduct detailed assessments and analyse complex family situations for appropriate clinical interventions</li><li>Deliver the Universal Health Visiting pathway as part of the FNP programme</li><li>Contribute to the Child Health Promotion programme, including professional assessment of children’s growth, development and language skills</li><li>Initiate and coordinate client care plans in collaboration with other professionals and agencies</li><li>Refer families to specialist services, including child protection agencies, as required</li><li>Ensure accurate data collection and submission to monitor programme fidelity and for research purposes.
