Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with schools and alternative provisions in the Wigan area to recruit a dedicated Youth Worker to support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The Role:
As a Youth Worker in a school or alternative provision, you will play a key role in:
* Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to help with behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing
* Building positive relationships and acting as a trusted mentor and role model
* Supporting students with self-esteem, motivation, and conflict resolution
* Collaborating with teachers, SEN staff and external agencies to ensure consistent support
* Creating a safe, supportive environment where students feel heard and respected

Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with young people in youth work, mentoring, coaching, or education
* A calm, confident, and resilient approach to supporting challenging behaviour
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
* Passionate about making a positive impact on vulnerable or at-risk young people
* Background in youth work, psychology, sports coaching, or community work is desirable
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)
