Additional Needs Assistant - Primary SEN School | Rochdale | Full‑Time & Part‑Time Opportunities
About the Role
As an Additional Needs Assistant, you will support pupils throughout the school day, providing 1:1 and small group support, assisting with EHCPs and individual learning plans, managing and de‑escalating challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner, creating a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment, working closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and therapists, and supporting with personal care where required.
What We're Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN/SEMH or transferable experience (e.g., care, youth work, coaching, support work)
* Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
* Confidence building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
* Proactive, adaptable, and able to use your own initiative
* Open to ongoing training and professional development
* Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
