Security - Dedicated Contract Support Officer

Unitrust Protection Services is hiring for the role of Security - Dedicated Contract Support Officer.

Base pay range

Job Title: Security - Dedicated Contract Support Officer
Rate: £12.75 per hour
Contracted Hours: Flexible working, mixture of days and nights covering Monday - Sunday as required (minimum of 12 hours per month)

Objective

To work as a DCSO Officer, providing a high level of customer service at our client site. Act as the first point of contact for all staff and visitors entering the building. Liaise with the client and stakeholders. Work alongside the wider Security Team and all service lines on site. Ensure the protection of persons and property and thereby the provision of a safe and secure environment.

Duties

* Maintain good order on site, protecting everyone against violent acts, abuse and accidents.
* Protect the client’s property against loss, theft, damage (including fire and water) and waste.
* Protect private property belonging to the client, staff and visitors against loss, theft and damage.
* Prevent offences against the law, UniTrust disciplinary codes and policies; report to management as required.
* Ensure basic fire precautions and clear means of escape.
* Undertake internal and external patrols and inspections; use patrolling and reporting systems where applicable.
* Work with the reception team to meet and greet visitors and ensure security procedures are followed. Some standing for more than one hour may be required.
* Escalate security and maintenance issues to the Facilities Team via detailed emails/incident reports.
* Produce and administer access cards for tenants, visitors and contractors.
* Monitor, escalate and respond to alarms with CCTV, Security & BMS systems.
* Provide assistance with emergency procedures as part of the Facilities Management Response Team.
* Manage contractors for the client and tenants; liaise with tenants during fit-out stages.
* Complete permit to work forms as required.
* Carry out escort duties for contractors and some deliveries as required.
* Ensure no unauthorised persons in restricted areas.
* Maintain accurate records and manage ad-hoc projects/tasks.
* Monitor and respond to CCTV and intruder alarms.
* Liaise with Building Services for out-of-hours service calls.
* Key control and daily issue management.
* General security duties and front-of-house tasks as requested by the Facilities Team.

Person Specification

Qualifications

* Officers must have the Security Industry Training Organisation basic qualification or equivalent experience.
* First aid qualification is desirable but not essential; training can be provided by the company.
* CCTV licence is required.

Training

* Officers must undergo a minimum of 4 days on-site training.

Aptitudes and attitudes

* Excellent literacy and communication skills in English (verbal and written).
* Good telephone manner.
* Computer literacy including E-mail, Word and Excel.
* Ability to operate security equipment to perform duties effectively.

Personal attributes

* Smart appearance in uniform provided by Unitrust and clients.
* Reliable, energetic, self-motivated; able to work without supervision and handle multiple tasks calmly.
* Excellent timekeeping.
* Tact and diplomacy to deal with people at all levels, including during emergencies.
* Self-confidence and interest in self-development.
* Good physical fitness for patrols and emergency response duties.

Other

* The role requires maintaining an excellent record of attendance and timekeeping.
