General Manager – Leisure Centre

Salary: circa £50,000 + benefits
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead a large, multi-faceted leisure centre in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the helm of a vibrant community hub, overseeing a diverse facility that includes a swimming pool, fitness gym, group exercise studios, and a wide-ranging programme of wellbeing activities.

The Role
As General Manager, you will have full operational and commercial responsibility for the site. You will lead a large, multidisciplinary team, ensuring the highest standards of service delivery, health & safety, and customer experience. You will drive performance across all areas of the business, balancing financial sustainability with a genuine focus on community impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strong leadership and direction to a large team across multiple departments
* Oversee day-to-day operations of the leisure centre, including pool, gym, and studios
* Drive commercial performance, membership growth, and retention
* Ensure exceptional customer experience and community engagement
* Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance
* Manage budgets, reporting, and overall site performance
About You
* Proven experience as a General Manager within a similar leisure, fitness, or multi-use facility
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop large teams
* Commercially astute with a track record of delivering results
* Passionate about health, wellbeing, and community-focused services
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to manage a fast-paced environment
