Overview
The Trauma & Orthopaedics department is seeking a Medical Secretary to provide reception and secretarial support to the team. The role includes day-to-day administration linked to consultant-led clinics, reviewing clinical letters, appointment validation, and interaction with patients. The post also involves appointment scheduling and cross-cover for other secretaries and admin staff as required.
Responsibilities
* Provide a full range of reception and medical secretarial services to the Trauma and Orthopaedics team, including day-to-day administration for consultant-led clinics, reviewing clinical letters, appointment validation, and patient communication.
* Manage appointment scheduling and provide cross-cover for other secretaries and admin staff as required.
* Work autonomously within a team to ensure the service runs efficiently and productively, adhering to procedures and working practices to meet standards and targets.
* Deliver a considerate, patient-focused service in all dealings with patients and staff across the hospital and wider system.
Qualifications / Skills
* Excellent organisational and communication skills; ability to work autonomously once trained and as part of a team.
* Experience in medical secretarial duties and consultant-led clinics is desirable.
