Be part of something bold. Build Modern Foreign Languages from the ground up.
Position: Teacher of French or Spanish (with flexibility to teach other subjects)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Pay Scale: MPS
Start Date: September 2026
Lyde Green Community School opens in September 2026, and we’re seeking an enthusiastic, talented MFL teacher of French or Spanish to join our founding team.
This is a rare opportunity to help establish a brand-new MFL offer from the very beginning – shaping curriculum, building resources, setting routines and creating a language-learning culture that will define MFL at Lyde Green for years to come.
In the first year, the successful candidate will teach French or Spanish and will also teach other subjects as needed to support a small founding timetable. As the school grows, your timetable will evolve and MFL will develop into a fully established department.
For ambitious candidates, this role offers strong potential for leadership opportunities in the coming years as the school expands.
What you’ll do:
•Teach French or Spanish as part of the founding curriculum
•Design and develop a new MFL curriculum, resources and systems from the outset
•Establish a positive, inclusive classroom culture with high expectations and strong routines
•Contribute to the wider life of a founding school team, including flexibility to teach additional subjects
This role is for you if you:
•Love teaching French or Spanish and inspiring pupils to learn languages
•Want to help build an MFL offer and shape curriculum in a new school
•Thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment where teamwork and initiative matter
•Have high expectations, strong subject knowledge and a commitment to inclusion
•Are excited by future leadership opportunities
In return, we offer:
•A once-in-a-career opportunity to join a founding staff team
•Strong professional development and support through Olympus
•Clear opportunities to grow your career as Lyde Green expands
Please see the Applicant Pack and Job Description for full details.
To apply: Complete the application form and use the supporting statement to share your vision for MFL at Lyde Green Community School and your role in delivering it.
Application Deadline: 9am on 20th April 2026
Interviews: 29th April 2026
Please note:
This post is advertised on the Main Pay Scale only in the first year due to the size of the school. As the school grows, staff will be able to progress to the Upper Pay Scale.
