Job Type: 32.5 hours, Monday to Friday, term-time only
Salary: £13.75- £14.40

An inclusive, aspiring primary school in the Tameside area are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a happy and successful team in a popular school. The successful applicant will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is motivated and passionate about developing life-long learners. The senior leadership team have said the year group will be dependent on experience and subject knowledge. The role is initially temporary but has great opportunities to become long-term, due to the needs and demands within the school.
The school have said they would like to meet the shortlisted educators for a trial/ mini observation (reading a story to a group of children) as well as an informal conversation with a member of SLT.
Role Responsibilities:
* Build positive relationships with pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, encouraging positive behaviour.
* Work under the guidance of the Class Teacher and other staff to support learning activities and help create an inclusive classroom environment.
* Assist with delivering learning tasks and supporting pupils during lessons. This may be in a small group or on a one-to-one basis as directed by the teacher.
* Help monitor and provide feedback on pupil progress to the teacher.
What We’re Looking For:
* Has good numeracy and literacy skills
* Has the ability to maintain and develop good relations between home, school, church and the wider community
* Has commitment and a sense of humour
* Has good working knowledge of supporting pupil inclusion
* Can work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities
* Has experience of working in a primary school, and supporting teaching and learning activities for groups or classes of children under the supervision of the class teacher.
