As the Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse, you will report to the Lead Nurse of the department, based at one of our hubs: Ashwood Centre, St Mary's Hospital in Kettering, Northamptonshire. You may also be required to work at smaller spoke sites, including Wellingborough, Corby, and Rushden, as well as Northampton General Hospital, depending on service needs. Therefore, the ability to work across Northamptonshire is essential.
Our clinics operate with flexible hours from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, and include some Saturday clinics. We offer an excellent internal training program and a supportive environment to develop specialist skills, progressing towards becoming an autonomous practitioner capable of participating in nurse-led clinics alongside doctors. Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct face-to-face and remote assessments and testing for patients with GU symptoms or concerns.
2. Assess and manage patients attending clinics for contraception and related concerns.
3. Dispense treatments for STIs and contraception, including IM injections.
4. Partner notification.
5. Perform microscopy and venepuncture.
6. Promote health and well-being.
