Red Recruit Global - Logistics Specialists Vacancy: Road Freight Operator - Manchester Area Reference: S/58726/CS Job Title: Road Freight Operator Location: Manchester Area Position: Full Time, Permanent Start Date: ASAP Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:30 (1-hour unpaid lunch) Additional: Office-based, occasional Saturdays and overtime as required About the Role Due to continued global growth, our client is seeking a Road Freight Operator to join their established team based in the Manchester area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with road freight experience to join a well-established, international logistics business, supporting both import and export operations while working closely with internal departments and overseas partners. Main Responsibilities Manage day-to-day Road Freight import and export operations Support the Operations Supervisor in delivering efficient and profitable operations Complete all documentation accurately and within required timeframes Ensure correct invoicing, including duties and VAT in line with procedures Liaise with overseas offices, clients and internal teams Raise jobs, prepare quotations and manage shipment progress Maintain strong relationships with clients and internal departments Assist with audits, inspections and collections where required Support credit control with outstanding payments Monitor and follow up on late payments Ensure all operational and financial activities meet company procedures Maintain and update SOPs where required Identify and report new business leads to the sales team Ensure all reports and system updates are completed on time Provide cover for holidays and sickness when needed Skills & Experience Required Minimum 1 year experience within Road Freight operations Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Good communication skills, both written and verbal IT literate (Microsoft Office and operational systems) Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset Administrative experience within a logistics environment preferred Why you'll love this role: 20 days annual leave bank holidays Annual salary review Pension scheme (after qualifying period) Death in Service cover Private medical scheme (after qualifying period) Loyalty holiday scheme (up to 5 additional days) Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Employee discounts and perks platform Additional milestone day leave How to apply: If you have relevant experience, please get in touch today.
