We are looking for a passionate and committed individual to join our team of Rotational Clinical Pharmacists.
This role offers the opportunity to develop expertise across a variety of clinical specialties, including medicine, surgery, care of the elderly, and acute admissions.
The successful candidate will also gain valuable experience through rotations in medicines information, technical services, and patient services.

Main duties of the job
* Providing pharmaceutical care to patients from admission to discharge on the wards.
* Participating in the multi-disciplinary team at ward level.
* Day to day working with the Medicines Management Technicians.
* Providing prescribing advice and support to junior medical staff.
* Educating patients about their medicines.
* Participation in clinical audit.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The department has strong ties with the University of Hertfordshire, offering rotational clinical pharmacists the opportunity to undertake the Joint Programmes Board (JPB) clinical diploma, with support and mentorship from our highly skilled team.
The Pharmacy department at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust operates across two sites and comprises over 100 staff, with its main base at Watford General Hospital. It provides a dynamic, supportive, and professionally fulfilling environment for staff to enhance their clinical expertise.
Person specification
Education and qualifications:
* GPhC registration.
* Certificate in Pharmacy Practice (or equivalent).
Knowledge:
* Prescription Monitoring.
* Computer and IT Literate.
* Need for Confidentiality
* Up to date clinical pharmacy knowledge.
* Up to date knowledge of national pharmacy issues.
* NHS organisational structure.
* Health & Safety.
Experience:
* Completion of Trainee Pharmacist placement.
