Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor: Managing a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set. Maintaining order, ensuring students adhere to school rules, and delivering pre-prepared lesson materials. Assisting students with the curriculum and focusing on any students who are struggling. Collaborate with teaching staff to implement interventions where necessary, both for behaviour and learning goals. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting emotional well-being and social development. Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular feedback to relevant parties. Assist in the creation and implementation of tailored plans to support SEN/SEMH students in their learning journey. Work closely with external agencies, parents, and colleagues to ensure a holistic approach to student support. Qualifications required for Cover Supervisor: Relevant qualifications in education, Sports, Psychology, Performing Arts etc. Team Teach training or equivalent is highly desirable. Previous experience working with students with SEMH or SEND needs is highly desirable. Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and interventions including de-escalation tactics Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Experience supporting students with EHCP plans is desirable Skills and Attributes Required for Cover Supervisor: Compassionate and resilient Proactive problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Confidence to be proactive and engage with the children. Ability to deal with a wide range of challenging behaviours. Commitment to continuous professional development.
