You are responsible for ensuring your team delivers excellent administrative support and customer service to service users, judiciary and management.

HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is responsible for the administration of criminal, civil and family Courts and Tribunals in England and Wales. Our roles support our service users and colleagues within HMCTS, where people and businesses access potentially life‑changing justice. Your role
As Team Leader you will focus on the team’s area of work, making sure that work is prioritised and organised and your team members are fully skilled to meet objectives. You will recognise the importance of the team’s overall wellbeing and can motivate them to succeed. You will contribute to the delivery of operational, performance and service standard targets and provide statistical data for the management team and judiciary. Your keen eye for detail and desire for continuous improvement is key to your success. Monitoring and analysing performance areas and trends, conducting ongoing reviews of procedures and work practices is essential, as is your ability to recommend improvements, navigate change and manage the implementation of new initiatives and legislation.
Responsibilities

* Collect and analyse statistical data for management and judiciary.
* Review procedures and work practices, recommend and implement improvements.
* Ensure team well‑being and maintain a positive working environment.
Skills and experience
* Ability to motivate and support a team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve effective performance.
* Experience of working in an administrative role in a customer‑focused environment.
* IT proficiency with the ability to learn and adapt to different technologies and software packages.
* Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills.
Working arrangements
* Standard full‑time working hours are 37 hours per week; part‑time, flexible and job‑sharing arrangements may be considered where they meet business needs.
* All applicants must be office based; hybrid working will not be considered.
* Occasional travel between Mid and West Wales sites may be required.
Location
Base location – Port Talbot Justice Centre, Harbourside Road, Port Talbot, SA13 1SB.
Visa and eligibility
* New recruits to the Civil Service joining MoJ are expected to join at the band minimum.
* This role is not eligible for new Skilled Worker visas in accordance with current immigration rules.
* From 22 July 2025, the Government increased the salary threshold and skills level for Skilled Worker visas. This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for sponsorship unless you have held a Skilled Worker visa continuously since before 22 July 2025.
* All successful applicants must ensure they have and maintain the legal right to live and work in the Civil Service and in the United Kingdom.

Leading criteria include a statement of suitability. A filtering process based on the statement of suitability may be carried out if a large number of applications are received. Interviews are typically virtual and alternate dates may be considered in exceptional circumstances or as part of a reasonable adjustment.
