Are you an experienced Legal Secretary looking for a new opportunity in a friendly and reputable law firm? Our client, a well-established firm based in York, is seeking a Legal Secretary to provide high-quality administrative support to a small team of solicitors specialising in wills, probate, trusts, and estate planning.
You’ll play a key role in supporting two busy Private Client Solicitors, ensuring the smooth running of their day-to-day work. Duties will include:
* Preparing and formatting correspondence, legal documents, and forms
* Managing diaries, appointments, and client meetings
* Handling telephone and email enquiries from clients and other professionals
* Opening and closing files, maintaining accurate records, and filing
* Liaising with clients with professionalism and sensitivity
* Assisting with billing, dictation, and general administrative tasks
About You
* Previous experience as a secretary is essential
* Must be an excellent typist (audio & copy)
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Confident with Microsoft Office and case management systems
* Discreet and professional with a client-focused approach
